Latest Happenings...

We grew our first butterflies...we literally received live bugs in the mail and watched them grow from babies into their chrysalises and then one day...they were butterflies!

This is the mesh cage for the butterflies. You have to feed them by putting sugar water on flower petals.

We just released them into the wilds this afternoon...let's hope they steer clear of the bears. ;-)

I spend a lot of time with a three-year-old that I love to pieces. Here he is inventing a funny game in which his 'gator eats his monkey. Hilarious. The alligator is actually apart of a golf set...I don't think its ever been used for that. Catapulting golf balls, eating monkeys, sure...well, y'know.

Poor monkey.

This is Dylan's latest drawing. It's of his daddy. And mommy...and mommy. He has just one mommy, so maybe it's mommy in a mirror? Whatever, it made me laugh. I gave him paper and crayons and this is what we did. I'm fairly certain its a rare breed of smiling octupii...octupuses...whatever.

AND, he's been watching a lot of Diego lately (an adventurous child with a pet jaguar who lives in the jungle...cousin of Dora the explorer), so when we drove Rhianna to her lesson today (she's taking bass lessons) and were suddenly surrounded by trees on all sides he exclaimed, "Mommy! It's the jungle!"

Go ahead. Laugh. That was pretty cute. :)
